L.A.-based vocalist, guitarist and writer/arranger Michael Kohl originally hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin . He received his degree in jazz guitar and composition from Amherst College in 2006 after earning the prestigious Sundquist Prize and is both adept and experienced as a singer and player in virtually every genre.

In demand as a tenor, vocal percussionist and Downbeat Award-winning scat singer, Michael has performed professionally on five continents and in venues as diverse as high schools in Cincinnati, pubs in London, stadiums in Chile, concert halls in Tokyo, a national telecast from FOX studios in West L.A., weddings in New Jersey, the IAJE Conference in Toronto and South Africa's Cape Town Waterfront, plus numerous street corners, churches, synagogues, backyards, living rooms, a Bedouin tent in southern Israel and the world-famous Jazz Bakery. He has sung for everyone from Kurt Elling to Kobe Bryant to Christine Devine and earned national acclaim as a finalist in jingle contests for Oreo and Chili's.

Equally active as an arranger, his charts earned the Amherst College Zumbyes an ICCA Finals berth in 2007 where they were crowned one of the top three a cappella
groups in the world. Michael is thrilled to be performing with the Grammy-listed Caroling Company this year.
