J. Wingate Greathouse maintains an active career as a vocalist, composer, actor and musician. Wingate is currently the Director of Music at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church in Studio City, CA.   An alumnus of the Oberlin and San Francisco Conservatories and the USC Scoring for Motion Pictures and TV Graduate program, Wingate is currently pursuing a career as a composer for films, television and video games ( www.GreathouseMusic.com ).  Wingate has recently finished composing music for a independent TV pilot, Cooking with Kay ( www.CookingWithKay.com ) and is composing music for an American Film Institute short film, The Moon and He ( www.TheMoonAndHe.com ).

Wingate is also the composer of many choral compositions, including: Thys Endris Nyghth, Mass for the Saints (A Mass in Jazz Style), Alpha and Omega, Choral Variations on Amazing Grace, Antiphonal Mass for Advent & Christmastide, Navajo Night Song and Three Prayers from the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius. In 2001, he was a featured soloist in the San Francisco Symphony's concert version and PBS broadcast of Sweeney Todd, featuring Patti Lupone and George Hearn.  This broadcast won the 2002 Emmy Award for Best Classical Program.  In June of 2000, he originated the role of King Edward II in the world premiere of Gaveston, a new musical chronicling the love affair between Edward and Piers Gaveston.

Other past performances include:  Quint in Benjamin Britten's Turn of the Screw with West Bay Opera, Dirty Little Showtunes at the New Conservatory Theater Center in San Francisco, and performances with the improv troupe, Pacific Playback Theatre. As a professional singer, he has been tenor soloist with many San Francisco Bay Area arts organizations, including the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Masterworks Chorale, San Francisco Choral Society and the Oakland Symphony Chorus.  He can also be heard on many CD's, soundtracks and commercials.
